This handmade paper sculpture is inspired by ocean waves as seen at the coast of Maine: full of energy, life giving sustenance, and like real waves, impossible to fully control. Executed in the tradition of art nouveau, an artistic style that celebrates the natural forms and shapes of nature, the sculpture is made with pigmented abaca, a natural fiber that holds the pigment beautifully, allowing the colors to swim in its liquid form as it searches for its ultimate shape.
How to display:
This original work of art will not fade or discolor when displayed in indirect sunlight. The surface is coated with an acid-free covering so it may be displayed near a water source (coffee centers and bathrooms seem to be popular places to display my work these days).
