The idea for making a glass-like, ocean wave-inspired sculpture using abaca and epoxy took me over three years to perfect. The aqua color is pigmented abaca, the strongest fiber in the world and identified by the United Nations as a future fiber due to its organic quality and sustainability. I mixed the abaca into epoxy and I then twisted it into a shape reminiscent of ocean waves to create a maintenance-free substrate. Display in indirect sunlight.
