Montmartre is the famous Paris neighborhood of the Impressionist artists. Montmartre means ‘mountain of the martyr. ‘ The name comes from the martyrdom of Saint Denis, who was decapitated on the hill around 250 AD. Saint Denis was the Bishop of Paris and is the patron saint of France. Anyone who has visited Paris knows to include Montmartre on their itinerary where the ghosts of Monet, Cezanne, Van Gogh, and Morisot permeate the hilly streets.
How to display:
This original work of art will not fade or discolor when displayed in indirect sunlight. The surface is coated with an acid-free covering so it may be displayed near a water source (coffee centers and bathrooms seem to be popular places to display my work these days). If the artwork gets damp, it will dry without warping.
