The Great Wave, after Hokusai, 12L x 4H x 4D in, 295.00.
$295.00
This free-standing sculpture was influenced by “The Great Wave” by Katsushika Hokusai. The print depicts three boats moving through a tsunami-like sea, with Mount Fuji visible in the background.
As for my sculpture, I tried to capture the joy of watching and listening to the waves as they crash along the ocean’s shore.
Creating free standing ocean wave inspired sculptures is a new direction for me. I’ve been working on this idea for a few years now and can finally share these colorful ocean wave inspired sculptures with my collectors.
I’m all in for being inspired by art historical works of art. Who is your favorite artist? Have you created art based on their work? Share it and let’s get something going here.
The sculpture is made of pigmented abaca and epoxy. I use UV pigments that will not fade so the sculpture can be displayed in a bright area. I recommend it be displayed out of direct sunlight for best results.
