Burrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!! It didn’t get above 17 degrees here in New England today.  My daughter and I went for a walk “downtown” (we live in a very small town, only 6000 people, so “downtown” is down the street).  We went to the bank, town hall, our favorite bakery (Topsfield Bake Shop) and to the beauty parlor to make an appointment for hair cuts (5 months since my last hair cut!).  I love the fact that we can walk to town-such an old but dying privilege.  I know all the merchants by name, and they know me.  Anyway, I came back home and went to work in my studio on the day eight wall relief.  I had a bunch of scraps from seascape paintings-all cold, bleak winter inspired colors, e.g., New England!

And that is what I love-the cold air just whips right through you on days like this.  Hard to breath, eyes tearing and freezing up, nose running, heart pumping.  That is New England-and today was New England at its finest.
