The official flower for March is the daffodil. Daffodils symbolize rebirth and new beginnings. It’s one of the first flowers to bloom at the end of winter, announcing the beginning of spring and signifying the end of the cold, dark days. Daffodils also symbolize creativity, energy, resilience, forgiveness, and vitality.

- The daffodil flower is often given as a wedding gift.
- All Daffodil flowers are part of the Narcissus family. According to Greek mythology, Narcissus was the beautiful son of a river god. He caught a glimpse of his reflection in the water and fell in love. The angry water nymphs turned him into a flower, the daffodil. Next time use a mirror.
- When the sap of daffodils touches the skin, they can cause mild irritations.
- Daffodils became so popular that Shakespeare wrote about them in his sonnets. What’s good for the bard is good enough for me.
- Daffodils are the national flower in Wales.
- Many artists painted daffodils including Berthe Morisot and Vincent Van Gogh.
