As an art history professor, I have been fortunate to visit many of the world’s great cathedrals including in Chartres, Salisbury, Paris, Dublin, and Arlington Street Church, Boston.
In this Zoom lecture, I will cover the brief history of stained glass, and provide a close examination of the stories told through some of the best known windows including the Charlemagne Window (Chartres), Bishop Suger offering the church to Saint Louis (San Denis), and the Louis Comfort Tiffany Windows (Arlington Street Church, Boston).
THURSDAY, JUNE 12, 10:30—11:30 AM Online. Sponsored by the Tewksbury Public Library.
