Everywhere I looked this summer, there was clumps of wildflowers. Did you notice them growing along highways this summer? In cracks in the sidewalk? Beaten paths by the side of the road? All the rain we had this summer created the perfect climate for them to grow. The abundance of wild asters, daisies, goldenrods, and lupine inspired me to capture the feeling of these natural beauties before the onset of autumn.
Some were in clumps of color amongst litter and decay, while others went for stretches of highway. Either way, I couldn’t help but think of the strength in these beautiful blooms, so untended and wild. All they needed was a little sun and a lot of rain, and wah-lah! A show of color that went on all summer long.
This series of paintings celebrates the simple beauty of wildflowers in colors of gold, purple, orange, and blue. The full gallery of these paintings is private and exclusive for subscribers to my email list.
