SEPTEMBER. Asters boogie woogie, 9 x 9 x 1 inches, maple floater frame.

$165.00

My garden was filled with colorful asters this month. I decided to paint them before to season passed and they became a distant memory. I did a little research into the meaning of asters and discovered that they symbolize faith, courage, hope, and wisdom. Not bad for a hardy perennial flower.

The name “aster” comes from the Ancient Greek word for “star”—a reference to the plant’s star-shaped flowers. Asters have been used to remember soldiers lost at war. In ancient Greek and Roman cultures, the burning of aster leaves was believed to scare away snakes and ward off evil spirits. Asters served as muses for painters and writers. They were once burned to ward off serpents. Yikes!

How to display:

The colors and textures will not fade or discolor when displayed in indirect sunlight. The surface is coated with an acid-free covering so it may be displayed without glass and near a water source (coffee centers and bathrooms seem to be popular places to display my work these days).

Elegant, Delicate, and tranquil is how I would describe Meg Black’s paintings. Upon viewing Meg’s work I was encapsulated and was immediately brought to the moment portrayed in the painting. The realistic nature scenes are absolutely magical.  Any room can be uplifted with the positive energy of her pieces, they are breathtaking to say the least. The aura behind her work leaves you with a warm feeling and truly makes me feel peaceful and relaxed.
