This translucent sculpture is inspired by ocean waves, full of energy, life giving sustenance, and like real waves, impossible to fully control. Executed in the tradition of art nouveau, an artistic style that celebrates the natural forms and shapes of nature, the sculptures are made with poured epoxy and pigmented abaca. Abaca is a natural fiber that holds the pigment beautifully, allowing the colors to swim in the liquid epoxy as it searches for its ultimate shape and form. The sculptures are best displayed out of direct sunlight for long periods of time.
Executed in the tradition of art nouveau, an artistic style that celebrates the natural forms and shapes of nature, the sculptures twist and turn, bend and curve, mimicking and exaggerating the movement of real waves. Display in indirect sunlight.
