The Great Wave, epoxy, abaca, and pigment, 16 x 4 x 3-5 inches.

$475.00

As an artist and art history professor and am influenced by historical works of art, in this case, “The Great Wave” after Katsushika Hokusai’s famous woodcut print. The joy of watching and listening to the waves as they crash along the ocean’s shore is captured in this small-scale free-standing sculpture. Creating free standing ocean wave inspired sculptures is a new direction for me. I’ve been working on this idea for a few years now and can finally share these colorful ocean wave inspired sculptures with my collectors. The sculpture is made of pigmented abaca and epoxy. I use UV pigments that will not fade so the sculpture can be displayed in a bright area. I do recommend it be displayed out of direct sunlight for best results.
