I grew up in the 1970’s, a time when kids entertained themselves by spending hours outside, riding bikes, playing pick up games in local parks, and swimming in open streams. Spending so much time outside gave me an appreciation for nature. The emotional pull nature has on us, the organic shapes, variations of colors, and its endless array of textures; the magic of it all.

It is no wonder my paintings imitate the experience of being outside by recapturing the colors and textures of nature. My aim is to encourage the viewer to wander into the distant landscape and experience the natural environment for themselves.  In this way, they complete the story I am telling as they discover what lies beneath the surface.

We all have stories to tell. Stories about our lives, our favorite places to visit, memories we want to relive; private spaces we want to make our own, to feel happy in, and shut out the world for just a little while.
